I loved making this Mariner's Compass. This quilt is featured in Darlene Christopherson's new book "A PERFECT UNION" just released by C & T Publishers. I highly recommend Darlene's new book; "it would make a wonderful addition to your quilt library. This is one pattern I pieced by hand. It goes together so fast. You should never fear this pattern from the little to the big. Enjoy it and use lot's of color. I then built my patchwork (hand pieced) and my applique around it. I used a lot of "Darlene Christopherson's patterns, adding some of my own ideas to them. I love her work, and applique has become as much a part of my quilting as the machine piecing. I am working on my own design and hope to have something finished by next year. I use the freezer paper for my patterns and the needle turn technique.
